Behind the Scenes at the Cooper & Ella Fashion Shoot
Kara Mendelsohn didn't start off with dreams of being a designer: She worked her way through the fashion world for the better part of two decades before launching her label, cooper & ella. These days, she's working on her soon-to-be-released line of dresses, and we got a sneak peek. Spoiler alert: These styles are super cute!

1/9Or should we say behind the seams?
2/9Hair and makeup! The call time for this shoot was 9 A.M., and it took about two hours to get the model ready for action (par for the course!).
3/9So many outfit options to choose from, never enough time. It's always better to have too much beautiful stuff to choose from, wouldn't you agree?
4/9Gotta get that lighting just right so the pics come out perfectly.
5/9Kara isn't afraid to climb in a shot and make adjustments. She knows exactly how she wants each piece to look in the final photos, so she makes tons of little tweaks throughout the shoot.
6/9"Long day in heels. Luckily, our girl is a pro and she knows how to work it," says Kara.
7/9The first selects are lookin' good, but there are still a ton to go. Lunch break anybody?
8/9They might be supremely chic, but the cooper & ella team (who have been together since day one of the brand!) always wrap with a goofy group shot. "We love what we do," says Kara—that rings loud and clear!
9/9"So excited about the launch of our dress collection!" Kara gushes (in case you're wondering, this one's the Makayla). We predict this look will be all over sidewalks as soon as the weather warms up.
