How to Make an Embroidered Beach Bag
1/9Thread the Needle
Thread the needle with the first color of embroidery floss, pulling it all the way through so it's doubled. Cut the floss, and tie the ends together in a knot.
2/9What You Need
-A straw beach bag
-Embroidery floss in several coordinating colors
-A tapestry needle
-Scissors
3/9Insert the Needle
At a point in the center of the bag width-wise and a few inches from the top, insert the needle from inside the bag up through the front.
4/9Create a Horizontal Stitch
Cross over the vertical line and sew into the bag to create a long horizontal stitch. Follow this stitch a second time just like you did with the vertical one.
5/9Create a Vertical Stitch
Insert the needle back into the bag two inches above the initial point. Pull the thread through to create a long vertical stitch. Sew back up through the lower point, following the stitch a second time to make it thicker.
6/9Tie the Loose Floss Ends
Thread the floss to the inside of the bag, and cut the needle off. Tie the loose ends in a knot and then trim them shorter.
7/9Thread the Needle Back to the Front
After doubling the long vertical stitch, thread the needle back to the front side of the bag at a point about an inch to the side of the first line.

9/9Cover the Bag
Repeat these steps with each color of embroidery floss until your bag is covered.
