How to Make a Flamingo Print Bikini
1/8What You Need
-A solid-colored bikini
-Stencil paper or plastic transparency paper
-A permanent maker
-A utility knife
-Scissors
-Fabric paint
-A foam paintbrush
2/8Draw a Flamingo
Begin by drawing a flamingo on the stencil paper. Keep the shape simple, with no crossing lines or empty shapes in the center. If you don't want to draw freehand, try tracing a photo of the bird.
3/8Cut Out the Drawing
Leaving at least an inch of blank space on the sides, cut a square around the drawing.
4/8Place the Stencil
Place the stencil over the bathing suit and hold it firmly in place.
5/8Now Cut Out the Flamingo
Very carefully, cut out the flamingo shape using the utility knife.
6/8Paint Over the Stencil
Dip the brush in the paint. You can mix your own color, or use one straight out of the bottle; we mid magenta and white for a vibrant pastel pink. Gently dab the brush over the inside area of the stencil. Be sure to get all the edges!
7/8Continue Stenciling
Carefully lift the stencil off the fabric, making sure not to slide it in the process. Repeat painting, moving the stencil each time so you completely cover the top and bottom of the bikini. If the stencil becomes too covered with paint, rinse it with water and dry it well before moving on.
Once you're done stenciling, allow the paint to dry. Follow the instructions on your fabric paint, and heat-set if necessary to make your swimsuit washable.
