How to Make 3-D Floral Denim Shorts
1/9Cut White Denim Circles
Cut 15 to 20 white denim circles, each about one inch in diameter.
2/9What You Need
-A pair of denim shorts
-1/2-yard of denim fabric in the same color as the shorts
-1/4-yard of white denim fabric
-A permanent marker
-Fabric glue
-Fabric scissors
3/9Draw a Flower Shape
Lay the dark denim fabric flat with the front side facing down, and place a white circle a few inches from the corner. Draw a flower shape around the white circle.
4/9Trace Flowers
Place the flower cutout on the denim, and carefully trace it with the permanent marker. Move the flower over and repeat until you have the same number of flowers drawn as white circles cut.
5/9Cut Out the Flower
Set the white circle aside, and cut out the flower.
6/9Glue Circles to the Flowers
Apply a small amount of glue to the center of a flower, and press a white denim circle in place. Repeat with all of the flowers.
7/9Arrange the Flowers
Arrange the flowers on the front of the shorts. Trace, cut, and glue more flowers if you don't have enough.
8/9Glue the Flowers
Remove the flowers one by one, applying a circle of glue on the backs and returning them to their place. Press each for a moment after gluing. Repeat on the back of the shorts.
