How to Make Neon Huarache Sandals
1/11What You Need
-A pair of woven huarache sandals
-Neon embroidery floss in two colors
-An embroidery needle
-Scissors
-Fabric glue
2/11Cut the Embroidery Floss
Cut about a foot and a half of each color of embroidery floss and thread the needle.
3/11Pull the Floss Through
Pull the floss through, leaving a few inches loose at the end.
4/11Continue Weaving
Continue weaving back and forth until the section is filled. Knot the remaining floss using the tail left from when you started the section.
5/11Insert the Needle
Beginning with one section of the huaraches, thread the needle up and down through the woven leather detail.
6/11Thread the Floss Back Through the Leather
Thread the floss back through the leather, passing the thread over where you went under and under where you went over.
7/11Glue the Knot
Add a drop of glue to strengthen the knot.
8/11Add Neon to Other Sections
Follow the same steps to add neon detail to other sections of the huaraches and around the front of the sandal. Repeat on the other shoe.
9/11Hide the Loose Threads
Use the needle to push the loose threads underneath the woven area.
10/11Trim the Floss
Trim the floss a half-inch from the knot.
