How To Make A Neon Ombre Sweater
1/6What You Need
-Sweater
-Neon fabric paint
-Small plate
-Sponge
-Scrap cardboard
2/6Dab Sponge Around Neckline
Gently dab the painted sponge around the neckline, dipping in more paint as needed.
3/6Prep For Painting
Slide the cardboard inside the sweater and up past the neck opening. This will keep the neckline clean and protect the sweater from paint soaking through to the other backside. Pour some paint out onto the plate. Dip the sponge into the paint, and dab the side of the plate to be sure the sponge is not too saturated.
4/6Continue Dabbing
Follow this curve painting the area around the neck until it is a few inches deep.
5/6The Finished Sweater
Let front of the sweater dry and repeat the process on the back. Remove the cardboard. Follow the instructions on your fabric paint and heat-set if necessary to make your sweater washable.
6/6Work Outward
To create the ombre effect, work outward from the neck onto the sleeves and torso stamping the sponge more gently and farther apart. Work sparsely and slowly, as you can always add more paint to fill in gaps.
